'Doesn't Matter If You Love It Here' by Bokassa (Directed by Henrik Eriksen)

Norwegian band, Bokassa, unveil their music video for 'Doesn't Matter If You Love It Here', a song boasting a unique melodic stoner rock quality and raw, haunting vocals that speak to the band's signature diverse sound. The lyrics and infectious hook translate quite the message; the song is essentially about a bond on the edge of breakdown having run its course; nothing and no one can save it. Matching the band's sombre yet extremely catchy and dynamic song is its music video, directed by acclaimed director Henrik Eriksen, whose previous credits include the wild music video for Håndgemeng's 'Medieval Knievel'. Bokassa's video sees the band holding auditions for a new bassist; besides the usual trials and tribulations of such a process, the auditions turn into an absurd journey of unfortunate incidents that sees potential band members go through wickedly camp mayhem. 

'Brothers' Song' by Māris Āboliņš (Directed by Māris Āboliņš)

Tonally rich with passionate grit and acoustically intense is the most apt way to describe the seasoned artist, director and performer, Māris Āboliņš. His vocals are exceptionally depthful, adding a layer of emotional significance to 'Brothers' Song', an eventful piece that takes the listener on an auditory journey. Keeping pace with the song's mystical and thunderous story is the music video which infuses an entire narrative path into the core of the music and lyrics. The video sees a wounded father leading his sons amongst the results of a ruinous defeat that epitomises what nightmares are made of. The costumery and setting amalgamate with the profound cinematography to give credence to the genuine sincerity of the moving song. 

'Making Music from Monsters' (Directed by Mark Andrew Hamer) 

Made with an abundant knowledge and evident passion for the power of sound within media, particularly the presence of music within retro horror, 'Making Music from Monsters' is an absolute must-see for anyone with an appreciation of how crucial genre scoring and sound are. From the Emmy-winning filmmaker Mark Andrew Hamer, is a micro documentary that chronicles the unexpected behind-the-scenes journey of 'The Return of the Vampire Hustlers from Hell' — a 1970s-esque exploitation flick that solely exists through its conceptual artwork and music. This epically named fictional film (both literally and genre categorisation wise) began as a poster artwork piece by artist Derek Zimmerman ("D-Wrex"). The poster was so admired that it rapidly inspired an entire soundtrack composed by the acclaimed musician Silas Hite. Giving a platform for this potential feature and a love for the likes of giallo and grindhouse cinema, Making Music from Monsters is a must-watch. 

'Many Ways to Kill' by Tasha Tarusøva (Directed by Valentyn Korolkov) 

Ukrainian alternative rock performer Tasha Tarusøva's artistry is known for its compelling lyricism and organic, soulful sound, features which take centre stage throughout her music video 'Many Ways to Kill', directed by Valentyn Korolkov. Sultry visual auras alight with glowing, reddened lighting, and an intimate atmosphere form the basis for this gothic-toned theatrical song. The video sees a couple sat at a romantic dining table complete with tapered candles and a fervid ambience, but there's something devilishly dark playing on our protagonist's mind. As an array of murderous possibilities play out with a graphic intensity, the song continues to build up into an emotionally charged pitch, stunningly underscoring this nefariously dark and twisted music video.
