ENTER THE FOG
For the festival weekend, the basement space at City Screen will be transformed into a Dead by Daylight-inspired immersive experience, giving festivalgoers the opportunity to step away from the cinema and into something altogether more sinister.
The interactive experience is being developed in collaboration with Behaviour and will bring the world of Dead by Daylight into the physical festival environment.
Expect challenges. Expect surprises. And expect things not to go entirely according to plan.
The activation will be open to Dead Northern festivalgoers throughout the weekend, with further details on exactly what awaits inside the basement to be revealed closer to the festival.
And there are more surprises still to come.
The partnership will see Dead by Daylight branding, experiences and exclusive activations integrated throughout Dead Northern, with further details to be announced over the coming weeks.
Josh Lawson, Festival Director of Dead Northern, said:
"When Behaviour first approached us about working together, we knew we wanted to do something that felt like more than a traditional sponsorship. Dead Northern has always been about creating experiences for horror fans, so the opportunity to bring Dead by Daylight into the physical festival was incredibly exciting.
"The 10th anniversary makes this particularly special, and we're absolutely delighted to have Behaviour on board as our Headline Partner.
"We're particularly excited about Aliens as our Friday night screening. It's exactly the sort of film that works brilliantly with a festival audience, and celebrating its 40th anniversary gives us another great reason to put it on the big screen.
"But the screening is only part of what we've got planned. The basement experience and some of the other surprises we're working on should give festivalgoers something they simply wouldn't get from playing the game or watching the film at home."
Dead by Daylight, developed and published by Behaviour Interactive, has become one of the most recognisable names in modern multiplayer horror, bringing together iconic horror characters and original killers, survivors and worlds in its asymmetrical 4v1 gameplay.
For Dead Northern, the partnership represents an opportunity to bring together two communities with a shared love of horror, from fans of classic cinema and independent filmmaking to the millions of players who have made Dead by Daylight part of the modern horror landscape.
